In 2009, Israel launched Operation Cast Lead in Gaza, after suffering from more than 10,000 rockets fired from that territory. In its knee-jerk response, the world condemned Israel for its response, accusing it of war crimes, including "illegal use of white phosphorus." However, the Israeli military operated in complete accordance with all international conventions. Any concerns about military operations should be directed at the laws that guide them, not those who adhere to them.
