This was my very first online match of Duodecim with my comrade in arms, K'Genesis. Squall has been bestowed many notable changes in his gameplay, notably through the tweaking of his magical attacks such as Blizzard Barret, which received a heavy cooldown and Mystic Flurry, which was disposed of its combo properties and also received a tracking nerf, rendering these two spells rather useless. Thunder Barret is where it's at now, and it shows in this video ; slightly faster than before, sucks your opponent in for combos and many other creative possibilities for your Assists, this move definitely shines in DDFF. Comparatively to what was said about Beat Fang, the only major change from its DFF counterpart is its actual damage output, which was reduced in this version. Aside from that, it is still a very potent attack, maybe even more now thanks to the addition of Assist combos. Fire Barret, Squall's new spell, is also extremely diversified and efficient in its uses : zero cooldown, it possesses multiples purposes such as a pressure tool and a combo trigger, you could see it as Mystic Flurry's successor. Squall is also a very good Assist combo master ; the Relentless Revolver makes a remarkable team with the one and only Brutal Blitzer, Jecht. His stream of attacks deal tremendous amounts of damage comparatively to other Assists, and it creates many openings for Squall to chain in with most of his HP attacks. As of today, mitigated thoughts can be heard about Squall's overall efficiency in this game ; has his overall game dropped down? Is he better? One might be inclined to say he has received a heavy lifting from his past appearance in the first Dissidia, but only time will tell if this was more of a godsend or if it will mark his fall into the darker pits of the mid-high-or-maybe-lower-tiers.
Cloud, on the other hand, feels like he has received a fresh treatment from the designers at Square Enix. He feels much more fluid, faster in most of his moves' execution and versatile no matter where he stands, be it on solid ground or on absolutely nothing (in midair). Most of his moves have received a redesigning of some sort, notably Sonic Break with its absorption effect, Climhazzard which gained a very nice tracking buff, the Fire spells' hitstun was increased and Firaga now guard staggers, Blade Beam's melee strike also guard staggers and the actual beam has regained its original properties from the Japanese version, making it harder to block, etc. Cloud is also extremely potent with Assists, although it is not displayed all too well in this video ; Assists such as Tifa, Cecil and Jecht truly highlight Cloud's fighting style thanks to their diverse ground and aerial attacks (which often lead either into Chase Mode, allowing Cloud to barge in with an attack of his such as Slashing Blow or Braver, dealing supplementary Wall Rush damage, or they will simply smash the opponent right into a wall, creating yet another opening for Cloud to land an HP attack), and it is for these main reasons that I favour them over other assists which simply do not reward him as much as these ones do. All in all, Cloud has become a thoroughly and overall complete character in Duodecim ; there is hardly anything limiting him from facing off against aerial characters such as Zidane and Kuja in this game thanks to the addition of Aerial Double Cut and his overall redesigning.
Is this song actually in the game?

That Double Cut -> Cross Slash combo was badass. Does the combo still exist or was it just luck?

@ChemicalFizz
The combo does still exist, however it requires strict timing.
