for the people who are putting bad comments of sweden....GET A LIFE!!!! They can dance whatever they want do whatever they want is their traditions!! Its like im saying ugh U.S.A is so disgusting with their gross and fat food. Every country has their traditions! Oh and believe me swedish food is healthier than U.S.A food and Sweden is cleaner than U.S.A and at least in Sweden their are not more than 300 teenagers killing themselves because of bullying!

As you already know, I am from Sweden, and my family celebrate Midsummer, as everyone in Sweden does. What is desgusting with Fresh Potatoe, Sill, Salmon, Meatballs, Sousage, strawberries with whipped cream?!

The dance is the Trekarlspolska, a dance going back to the Late Middle Ages. Such dances are called Basse Danse in France and were common in the 15th & early 16thnCentury. The best example and relative is "De Kegelaar" from Diest in Belgium, which has a tradition to an old Hansa guild of the 15thC and could be the original of this !
