Remembrance Sunday is the second Sunday of November, the Sunday nearest to 11 November (Remembrance Day), which is the anniversary of the end of the hostilities of the First World War at 11 a.m. in 1918. Second World War Remembered is a CD containing memories of 24 men and women from Kent who lived through the second world war. You can order by visiting our website; all proceeds go to the Royal British Legion and the Chart Sutton War Memorial Pavillion Fund.
In the United Kingdom, Remembrance Sunday is marked by ceremonies at local war memorials, such as this ceremony in Maidstone, Kent. The parade was attended by civic dignitaries, ex-servicemen and women (principally members of the Royal British Legion), members of local armed forces regular and reserve units, youth organisations (e.g. Scouts and Guides), and military cadet forces (Air cadets, Army cadets and Sea cadets). The band of the Salvation Army played. Wreaths of poppies were laid on the cenotaph memorial at the bottom of Tonbridge Road and two minutes' silence was held at 11 a.m. Thanks to the guys at www.kershmedia.co.uk and www.kwikvid.com Kent video marketing and video production for help editing our home movie.
