We got two kittens!

Their names are Sam (the orange one) and Frodo (the brown one). They are four months old, brothers, domestic short/medium hair, and we adopted them from a shelter almost two weeks ago. Yes, they are polydactyls/Hemingway cats/shipper cats/have extra toes.

Do extra toes make life harder for cats? Do they need extra care?

@whatallison All we really have to do is make sure their nails are trimmed. Because the extra toes don't work as well as their other ones, they can't really effectively scratch with them and if we don't clip their claws often enough, they could keep growing all the way into their paw pads.

D'aaw! They are too adorable! You get brownie points in my book for being a cat lover <3 By the way, Sam is actually probably a mix of a maine coon and some other cat (tabby maybe?) because of the little sitting thing he does, when his front paws are held up in a kind of begging pose and his bottom rests on his hind legs. Maine coons have the kind of pelvic shape to let him balance comfortably like that. So, in a way, you did get a bred cat, just the natural way <3
