( Please Read ) I'm not promoting anything here, it's just that having put single rotor blades on many of my helis and airplanes, it was only natural for me to try it on a quadcopter. I decided to use my MQX. The hardest part is balancing a prop that weighs less than 2 grams, and with 4 props, the harmonic vibrations thru the machine makes it difficult. I tried to use one of my composite motors to balance the props but it kept quitting, thus I surmised they were the reason I was having problems with my Home made Quad. I found some great replacements from Nanoplanes.net and am pleased. So even though the MQX 1 bladed props are not perfectly balance, you can see they work. this is simply my experiment to see if it would actually fly and show you the fun.

Thanks kindly for all your support. I would appreciate if you would please take a moment rate the video, subscribe to be notified when I produce another RC Television show, and if you know of others that would like to see this video, please pass it on.

Best Regards,

I saw your comment on Adrian's video, That is not "your theory". In 1937 a Taylor Cub made 3000 miles in a one blade prop. I have the article if you want to see it. it have all the formulas on how it works.

And in Argentina were my father jumped on parachute, back in 1985, the pilot did a prop with one blade too.

I know that and even know Pylon racers used 1 blade props for years and I mentioned that in my first 1 blade vid years ago. Im friends with a guy who flew it. My "theory" was to apply it to models, specifically helicopters, not real planes. Every one of my planes, quads, and helis with 1 blade, are all still flying perfectly. Besides, I am having fun exercising my brain and not trying to be first at anything. A helicopter with 1 blade is a whole different thing than a single blade prop.

Dave. the HK motors are bad! same with the AXN "replacement motors". Although NTM propdrive ones are good for me now. All the best. Love your vids..

another great one. i always give you a thumbs up when i watch your videos, cant understand why you'd have so many veiws and so few votes. some folks are just too lazy i think.

keeping the mind active is as good a reason to do most anything fun [and non distructive].

Haha. Yeah, well I really think the people who like it make comments and the people who don't use the thumbs down not saying why and being afraid to tell me to my face. They should eliminate that feature anyway as it doesn't really matter much. I still make my videos for fun and hopefully to inspire folks to think more these days with logic and to actually TRY stuff instead of being an "armchair Pilot". Thanks for your comments and long time support. ~NightFlyyer~

If it's not already been done, have you managed to get a patent for the single-rotor thing?

lol @ 7:00 - i can understand. :-) Thank you for all your videos. I really enjoy them and hope to be able to fly at least half as good as you do in some time. I just changed from a mcx2 to a mqx and i hope i don't destroy it before i learned to fly it. :-)

    Another interesting vid, Dave

It looks quite stable to my eyes, but that may just be testament to the giro or your piloting.

Are single bladed props any noisier or quieter?
