Bob Eubanks' emotions demonstrate how honest, warm and sincere he was as an emcee, husband, and father (grandfather). Game show hosts are a dime in a dozen that generally fall in this category. Chuck Woolery, Allen Ludden, Tom Kennedy, and Bill Cullen all fit in this category. Probably the only show he didn't get too emotional was the 1984 finale of 'Dream House'.

You try doing a show in daytime for eight and a half years... thousands of shows... see how you feel when it's over.

@whirliebird74 I don't think he got too emotional on the finale of "Trivia Trap" either.

Johnny Jacobs was standing by the tree with the staff during the closing,it was truly rare to see him on camera.

Does anyone have the full show to watch on youtube please ?

I wish someone would post the final show of Rhyme and Reason another show hosted by Bob Eubanks!--On that show the celebrities destroyed the set! Smashing it to pieces!

@redsox0627 I believe it was due to low ratings, in both cases. Both shows had also been on the air for a long time (8 1/2 years for Newlywed, and 7 1/2 years for Dating).

@nicholasm79 Exactly. Add to that the people you have bonded with over those years

Why was The Newlywed Game canceled in 1974 and why was The Dating Game canceled in 1973?
-
@excuseyou77 Johnny Jacobs was with the staff at the end of the show
-
@whirliebird74 or The Diamond Head Game... lol

@sugarbear522 Silverman didn't join ABC until 1975.
If I read correctly, the couples on this episode played for charity. Is that right? Why didn't Johnny Jacobs say his final voiceover after the credit roll? Cool find.

Not sure why we didn't hear Johnny Jacobs, but this was a charity show with couples who had been on the show before.
