I wouldn't say it's because of age. Robert Plant, for example, sounds almost the same as he did thirty+ years ago. You never know what's causing him to sound differently, but I know what you're talking about.

i saw tool about 2 weeks ago...yes maynard is getting older..DUHH!!, but he sounded just as good as he did when I saw him on lateralus 3 years ago as wekk as last sept....I will say tho that they are crankin up the guitars and maynard is not as loud...I remember the 1st 2 shows i saw maynards voice wa sloud powerful..but now he just blends in the guitars...cuz i guess adam wanted to be louder and do alot more improve

bummer you only got a couple of minutes, I've not seen this song live yet- 4 shows so far on this album and they havent done it at any of them. Maynard's had so many voice and throat issues these last couple of years- some nights he's spot on others (like this one obviously) he's completely off. Best live band ever though.

From watching Tool vids from years ago to now, now I can see a difference in Maynard's vocals. He's becoming an old man now...
