This song may be about two men one of them desparately wants somebody, anybody. Another comes to him, they kiss, and he's gone the next morning. It's about the desparate one being taken advantage of, it says "I will give you gold and mountains if you stay a while with me" and "they kissed and the sun rose, he walked a little further, and he found he was alone." He was taken advantage of and ended up worse off than at the beginning of the song.

When PJ gets jazzy or soulful she really does give me the goosebumps. In certain respects it's a pity she didn't continue down that road a bit more as her voice is so suited to that. And to think most music 'fans' still remain unaware of her after 20 years..

I am so glad mainstream radio never grabbed onto more than one of her songs and went and ruined it for her true fans! Such musical genius in her writing and an all around musicain. One of the true understated greats of our time.
