Thanks! This is great to see, and I enjoyed hearing the steps to modify after the selection had been made. I'm new to Fireworks, and this really helped me to better understand some of the shortcut keys.

Thanks! With people, the pen tool is most often used for more accurate selections. You can still use the polygon lasso tool but it will be a little less accurate.

ok here is a question that is driving me nuts...
How do you get rid of the background instead of the object when pressing delete key?
the only option I have is to cut or save the image and paste it on another layer, but I don't like doing that.

Hi there. Once you've made your selection, you can "inverse" the selection by going to Select>Select Inverse (Cmd-I) to reverse the selection. Now if you click Delete, you can remove the background content. Let me know how that works, ok?

Ur can simply zoom in with Left alt -> scroll up down :) easier
