I just started working these today.
I've tried double fronts before, but not out of a front handspring.
(It takes so much less effort to do them this way.)

They feel like they shouldn't be too hard if I'm a bit more aggressive and tuck tighter.
(I might have to resort the ugly "cowboy" position until I get better.)

Hopefully I can get some D value skills like this in my routine.
Other D value skills I'm considering working on are front double fulls and back 5/2 twist.

  • cowboy position isnt ugly.

  • @ParkourDenver I think it is. It is also a form deduction.

  • on another note, i just watched the video again. There is not a lot of room for criticism. The shoulder extension is AWESOME in the handspring. But look closely! In your slow motion version, I noticed your head is back in the second rotation of the double tuck. this will slow down the rotation and in this case, keep u from getting to your feet. other than that your form is remarkable

  • Thanks! I've been called the "form Nazi" before. (I take it as a complement.)

You are right, I just need to get in a tighter tuck and I can probably do these.

I just put up a new video. Check out my first Van Roon!

  • looked kinda gay, you did it the girls way XD

  • @DrAlexisOlson ahh I see. didnt know that.. there is no deduction in diving.

    Much love.

  • ya i double checked and under the new code it is a D. makes me kinda sad because 5 yrs ago this was the skill to have as a level 10.

  • Yeah, I double checked with the code earlier today to confirm. I think we get +0.1 bonus for double salto skills under NAIGC rules though, effectively making it an E.

  • its a D

  • Yeah, it looks like you're only tucking half as hard as you could be.
