Melissa, you are right to get on that soap box about the WLS being an "easy way out". It definatly is not. Not only do you have to make the difficult decision to put this tool in place with all of the risk that comes with it, but you have to eat properly still. That is all WLS surgery is suppose to be is a TOOL. People that don't understand that are ignorant and are not worth listening to. Don't let them bother you. Just blow them off. You know that is right for you and your health.

I know some people on WW can put themselves on a pedestal believing it is the "ONLY" healthy way to lose weight. What's right for one person isn't right for someone else. That's just the way it is. I was looking at your surgery vid and you look so good!

LET ALL THE NEG PEOPLE WHO ARE UNEDUCATED AND HAVENT "REALLY" HAD TO TRY EVERY DIET ON THE PLANET AND GAIN& LOOSE A 100X.WE COULD EASILY PICK OUT A NEG POINT ON ANYONE AND HARP ON IT TOO !WE ALL KNOW DIET SABOTAGERS/SURGERY SABOTAGERS ETC.BUT YOUR RIGHT! ITS WHAT WE CHOOSE TO DO! Melissa, You are looking great! Congratulations on your soon to be graduation! I understand why you need to vent due to frustration. I have never had any kind of surgery, but I know for sure WLS is not an easy way out. Those of you have had it still have to lead a healthy lifestyle or you won't lose the weight. WLS is a tool. It is not a miracle cure. Good luck with your progress. You can vent any time! :-)

From having the lap band I can say it is in no way the easy way out, I can eat anything I want and I don't lose w/o exercising - I work harder than anyone else I know that hasn't had surgery to lose weight, I work for EVERY single pound I lose. If I made bad choices and didn't work for it, I can easily gain, just like anyone else that hasn't had surgery,

Hang in there. I understand when people give you 'advice' about weight loss. I think when people use the term 'easy way out' it comes from a lack of education and understand.
