@samsaint11 all he thought when signing a player how much money can he make of him no footballer made more money for a club than becks did for madrid even know hes the same only buys big name players that will sell loads of shirts worldwide and repay there transfer cost ronaldos already made back the cash for madrid they spent on him last year, remember when becks signed for madrid ronaldinho wasnt the player of the year so perez probably didnt want ot chance it but barca did and look what hapnd

my friends nicknamed me Makelele. Mainly because of playing in his role and crunching tackles they say.

not racist just a plain idiot the cunt didnt increase his wages because makelele had poor technique with the ball and gave no credit to his defensive ability obviously he knows nothing about the full aspect of the game other than skill=good player he dosent rate hardworkers thats why the 1st galacaticos fell apart his next big mistake was not bidding for ronaldinho because he wasnt good looking he even sayed so the clown if i was a madrid fan at the time i would have attempted murder on him
I've really been wondering lately as somethinggg of a newcomer to the game, why are so many amazing DMs very short? I mean physically, short people? I have observed that most good DMs are either very strong big and tall (like Vieira and Essien etc.) which makes sense, or very short and aggressive like Gattuso, Mascherano, Makelele, and many more, all under 5'9. This doesnt make a lot of sense to me, why are so many so short yet so effective??

Its not just about who is stronger then the other one. It also depends on their work rate. It's very effective to have a player with much work rate who just wont stop running till he has the ball. And that's their main job on the pitch, get the ball from the other team while they are trying to build an attack. Then they give the ball away to a more technical player and wait until the opposition regain possession.
