Hello everybody and welcome to my New Let's Play!

I have chosen to do The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening. Despite this game not scoring very high on some of my past polls, this Zelda title is still a one-of-a-kind game and very high on my Zelda favorites and favorite games of all time. It's everything you love about the original Zelda game and A Link to the Past, but on a handheld. And if you have/had the Super NES Super Game Boy cartridge or the Nintendo Gamecube Game Boy Player, this game became an excellent candidate to play on the consoles as well.

Despite the majority of my reasons for choosing this game being personal, there is also a nice convenience factor. This is perhaps one of the shorter (maybe even the shortest) games of the series, so the LP will not be that long (I expect a possible number of 30 or so videos). So I can do this series justice and still finish in a short amount of time as well.

This will be a 100% LP of the game, meaning I will show you how to get all of the items/weapons and the pieces of heart. I will show you how to get 20 of the secret seashells, but not all of them, since there is no point after you receive the big prize. I may show some hidden secrets and references as well, but probably not all of them, so please do not expect the amount of content you get from me in other LPs, but you are welcome to speak your mind in the comments section.

I will be playing the Game Boy Color version of the game, which added a few extra secrets in the game. I will be covering that stuff in extra videos at the end of the LP, so please do not ask me about that kind of stuff in the comments, unless if you are trying to get information on the game itself. So in other words, don't ask me "When are you covering the GBC content?" or "Did you know that you can do this in the GBC version?" I will not be responding to those comments. So even though this is the GBC version, I will be treating this like the original Game Boy version.

As for the LP intro, I do plan to use what I did for this video (the two Kirby scenes and 3 random short clips from the video, and Zelda music being played during it). For the following episodes, I do plan to add text during the Gameplay clips to tell what episode it is and the name of the episode, and the music will change from episode to episode. The majority of the music will probably be Zelda music, but I may try to find some other tunes to use as well from other video games.

I think that is about all I needed to cover. If you have any other questions about this video, the LP, or anything about the game in general, don't be afraid to ask. Please refrain from spoilers though.

  • I've played this game before way back when I had a game boy color and I just realized the two in the beginning are counterparts of Malon and Talon. How did I never realize that...
