sew it in place with needle and thread. use good knots that won't come loose when you launder.

you want to make sure the paint is completely dry--you know how when you paint a wall, it might feel dry but also feel kind of cool to the touch? it's not completely dry yet. so you want to give it plenty of time to dry. then heat set, and then don't wash for a couple weeks to give it time to cure. patience is the key with paint!
