  • did u sand the bumpers and did u have problems with the paint staying

  • @gordo4142 just a quick scuff. the paints holding up on the bumpers pretty good.

  • @YoungStatic if u dont mind me asking whats the best paint mixture i was thinking 1st coat 80 paint 20 mineral spirit then 2nd and 3rd coat 50-50

  • @MrRubberDuckClan ive tried to test with 50/50 and it ran like water (maybe pressure too high?) but i just shot a car using 80-20 for 2 coats and it was like a mirror.

  • Now you gotta reach over an already painted area to reach the trunk..hmmm

  • @trunk516 i can just walk around??

  • @YoungStatic so would u recomend 80-20 and just do 2 coats? and if u dont mind watch my vid of my walkaround for my ef and do you think i should bother fixing it or just scrap it because the rockerpanels are pretty fucked up

  • cool cuz im sanding down my 90 dx sedan and i want the bumpers painted and earl scheib said they would match the stock paint and spray it for $300 if i do the prep work thanks

  • Props, it turned out really clean. What brand gun is that, and what fluid tip size did you use? I'm planning to do something like this soon.

  • @modeindustries One of my first paint jobs was an old S-10 that was a faded blue.I sanded the rust put a rust sealer on that and then I sanded the whole thing with green scotch brites. washed it and then painted it with Rustoleum black in rattle cans. I let it sit about 3 days..it was summer and it dried well.. Then I took 1000 grit sandpaper and wet sanded the whole thing. It came out a kinda satiny black. Was gonna clear it but I like the Mad Max look it had. Use a 1/2 overlap.

  • @trunk516 you seem to know a shit load about painting.. hmm perfect.. i need to ask you somthing go look at my videos i wanna spray paint my car black like gloss black but in a can kinda thingg just for fun i have multiple cars but if i took the needed steps as in sand wet sand buff all that do you think it could come out decent if i do it by can btw im doing a nuetral color/

    black

  • @modeindustries Doesn't have to be a $4000 professional job to take a few minutes and plan your spray pattern. I've painted many a car in the yard/shed/etc...all this guy had to do was paint the trunk BEFORE he backs his way to the rear fender..no extra work involved and you eliminate the chance of smearing what appears to be a fairly nice paint job.Rule of thumb is ..paint the highest. furhtest pieces first and then work your way back and down, while trying to keep a wet edge.
