Original was 2:49 when it was only 0:49 long ... deleted and reuploaded.

This is a really quick video slideshow of how I pin my figures to resin bases.

Usually resin bases are solid, allowing you to drill into them with a pin vice and attach your miniature ... this makes the join between the base and the figure MUCH stronger, helping to ensure they don't break of easily.

Thanks for watching, Viv.

  • nice tip . I really like you marine aswell

  • thanks mate ... got another 70 or so left to do!

  • how do you paint skin because when i do mine it just looks fake and blotchey and just horrible so tips would be nice ;p

  • I use one colour ... Foundation Paint: Tallarn Flesh as the basecoat and to that I usually mix white as I bring each layer up ... i'll post a pic on our Facebook page of one face I really like. I always paint a face over a white undercoat (in fact, I always undercoat every figure white, even if he is wearing armour) ... I find a white undercoat helps to naturally highlight things, especially if you are used to thinning your paints

  • Great tip to mark where to drill.

  • Nice and simple, and helps ... not necessary, but helps.

  • There were a lot of great tips there in such a short video. I was all set to buy copper wire from a store but since you suggested it I can save money and use a paperclip. Using the paint to mark drill holes was another great idea that I hadn't thought of. Thanks for this upload.

  • nice base work mate like your fists if you would check out mine and tell what you think thanks mate

  • Only thing you have to be aware of is ... make sure you drill the holes vertically, not following the line of the leg (as that is slightly angled) but drilling into the foot 'vertically' ... otherwise sometimes you can end up with pins in the fit that wont slide into the holes due to the different angles between the holes and how the pins stick out of the feet.

  • I think I rendered the 'looped region' that was set from the previous video ;-) ... but I like the way you put it much better!

  • Hopefully things will become more regular now

  • Cheers!
