Ignace Michiels plays Bach's Great Fantasia and Fugue in g minor BWV 542. Recorded at St. Saviours Cathedral, Bruges, 24th of July 2009. The organ is a 60/III Klais (1937) with a (now minor) 1719 Van den Eynde core.

  • I like 5:08-5:13! A minor tonic chord is played when closing the Fantasia. In most performances, a major chord is heard there. I don't know what Bach wrote, but I like the minor chord more. A major tonic chord does not fit in the piece I think...

  • I've been looking for this piece for two years. Finally, I found it. Playing Bach on an organ, plus a complicated piece means years of practice. This man is amazing. He really understands what he is playing and gave such effort to perform such a masterpiece!
