He becomes mentally unstable, and is terrified of fire or anything even remotely connected to it. Fearing social stigma, Ravi is send abroad for his treatment, by his father. Ravi's childhood friend Nirmala (Rathi) comes to his aid, and helps him recover. But Rajagopal arranges for him to be killed.
