Featuring some of the unique training required for high altitude flight.
From how to eject to the effects of the low air pressure at 70,000ft on a bottle of water and a rubber glove.

Also features some extra scenes and alternative commentary from the flight itself as well as a special gift for Captain Slow to treasure forever.

  • he says u have to try really hard to grab the reales but there is no air resistance at altitude

  • @jlund72 That's hardly true. There might be -less- air resistance, but its certainly not a pure vacuum up there.

And its definitely not a vacuum inside the cockpit!

Apart from that though, he is primarily talking about the effect of G-forces, should the aircraft start tumbling out of the sky.

  • im gonna be doing that soon,i am a Flight Officer in the Civil Air Patrol on Beale AFB and will be the youngest person to ever go higher than 50,000 feet,at least i think i would be,i will surely record my training and adventure -Ian

  • I'm afraid you'll have to climb beyond 60,000ft to claim any records, but you would surely do that.

While it was rare for Concorde to reach 60,000ft, it did happen on occasion and typically flew between 48,000 and 55,000ft even with young children aboard, especially during the Barbados flight seasons.

    Best of luck though.

  • Absolutely Fantastic! James you lucky bastard!!!!!

Anybody know the title of the soundtrack? Perfect for this film.......

  • The score probably isn't from an album or something, there is a very good chance it was made especially for this show and not available anywhere outside of the BBC archives.

  • he needs a haircut

  • Permission to decompress, sir. LOL

  • at the end of the mission that $2 bill James got how does someone get that

  • I would have that $2 bill signed by the pilot and put it in a frame on tha wall.

  • @bryUK true if u are under alot of G's eather u edject or the wings break off

  • this is so incredible, the fact that human beings are 5 ft something some above that, to go 70,000 ft. above us, just to realize how insignificant we are... i hope we can shed some light on how pathetic most of us human beings actually are. this is almost the land of god... i cant believe this. politicians should watch a video of an A-2 spy plane every week. this gives them the idea, that they are only a human being, and freedom is more than what they think. they are only humans!

  • Just lovely - our planet is so tiny and so fragile - And that aircraft, which was designed by Kelly Johnson, so many years ago, is still an operational asset. It has outlasted its operational predecessor the SR now, by years. I would call that amazing engineering. If each person could see the planet as is shown here - wars would cease, and the human race would at last crawl from the muck. High Flight........

  • I want to do this so badly.
