  • I love to see initiative on conversion projects, but I dislike much that still continue to use heavy and inefficient brushed motors. Is not there best technology in the USA.? As an engineer I dedicate myself to do conversions on demand but with BLDC motors are more efficient even than AC induction motors. I hope to become aware of the materials used. Developed controllers and high performance BLDC Motors in Chile. CoNTAC: giturriaga1 (at) hotmail (dot) com

  • @mariahayde Everything has a price, and EMIS is motor, controller and battery independent. This means you can utilize virtually any motor, controller and battery combination you want. Brushes DC motors just happen to be some of the least expensive, duarbale and most powerful, which made them a good choice for our prototypes.

  • @mariahayde If you want to advertise your services, please do it elsewhere. Also, these aren't engines, they are motors. For someone who professes to have extensive knowledge you certainly don't seem to have much of a grasp of real world knowledge on the subject. After you have built a successful hybrid AND TESTED IT, then comment here! You may be an engineer with a lot of knowledge, so you should know there are many factors that should be considered a particular application.

  • @unixtm BLDC is a good technology, but if you want to compare apples to apples then also compare the cost of those apples. Your statement just indicates how little you know and understand about the technology and its applications. No one is forcing you to use any technology, the EMIS system is motor, battery and controller independent - I suppose you missed that point....

  • @mariahayde First off, we aren't building an EV, we are building a hybrid. (maybe you missed that...) Secondly, there are people who are concerned about the money they have to spend and if you compare the prices you will see that a series wound DC motor and controller of the type mentioned is 1/2 to 1/40th the cost of your solution (BLDC)

  • you sell is the technology old over 40 years ago and I found similarly in the drills, angle grinder, etc. These engines are very heavy and large in comparison to an induction or a BLDC motor. It is a matter of comparing what makes UQM Tech, BRUSA, AC Propulsion. If I want to build an EV will do it with the best, and certainly would never use the outdated "technology" Series Wound DC Motors (Advance DC motors, Kostov). Only serve to make home experiments. Long live the BLDC technology.!

  • @bigcanuckful NetGain Technologies, LLC owns the technology and they are looking for someone to commercialize it. When you look at the economics of the conversion, it really only makes sense for fleets as there is so much engineering involved to get it working in a passenger vehicle that has very limited space. You may want to check out hrivnak.com as he is someone with 30,000+ miles on his EMIS conversion.

  • I love the idea..how do I fit one into my escape

  • After watch this: watch?v=B_M8x7WttAA

  • The system only makes sense on these types of vehicles, and not passenger cars (do to size limitations for batteries, motors, etc.) and the individual engineering required does not make sense for individual vehicles - only fleets.
