You didn't cite any sources for any of your information, nor did you specify any importance of extraneous peripherals. I will give you the Mac Pro costs, you did cite that, but in Harvard standards, that makes you wrong about the "hoax" doesn't it?
Anyways, I can't think of a non-specialist (such as CAD, which doesn't even run on OS X) Application that uses more than 4 cores, if that many, at a time.
Oh, and a lot of people buy Psy's to send a message to Apple, not mainly for price.

When you say they're a hoax do you mean they don't exist? People have confirmed receiving them all over the net. CNET even did a review on a Psystar computer.
