The Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights, and Civil Liberties holds a hearing, "From the Department of Justice to Guantanamo Bay: Administration Lawyers and Administration Interrogation Rules, Part III." Witnesses will include David Addington, Chief of Staff to the Vice President; John Yoo, the former Justice Department lawyer who wrote a now-repudiated memo allowing the harsh interrogations; and Christopher Schroeder, Charles S. Murphy Professor of Law and Public Policy Studies at Duke University. Chairman John Conyers questions the witnesses.

  • Good going Mr Conyers! It must have been very frustrating.

Nancy Pelosi needs to consider contempt proceedings on Rove, and impeachment proceedings on Bush/Cheney.

Impeachment is an essential check on the Executive branch to assure balance. It is authorized by the Constitution. It is REQUIRED to be used in event of an abusive president. It is the only check on a tyrant, and if it isnt on the table the Legislative branch is not doing its Constitutional duty.

    Demand Executive accountability

  • its pretty funny that the Constitution gets brought up in such concrete, almost didactic terms, when the 'Republican' Bush Admin. did more than arguably any president in the past 60 years to fluidly interpret the Constitution and international treaties as pieces of Law. These are hardly strict readings of the Constitution. And people are scared of Obama's Change...?

  • What a jerk!

  • DOJ report by John Margoles on John Yoo:

as per Yale Law Professor Jack Balkin, the only thing that saved Yoo in Margolis' eyes was that attorney ethical rules have been written by lawyers to protect themselves, and the bar is therefore so low that it basically includes only "sociopaths and people driven to theft and egregious incompetence..." As a result Margolis could not ultimately conclude that Yoo -- purposely lied" <Glenn Greenwald of Salon

dismantling what's left of Bill Buckley's NRO.

  • The clean-up never happened. Yoo and Addington are still running free.

  • Answer the damn question..yes or no!

  • coon is gonna go to bed and wake up in the morning, still a nigger. Go to: Her Name is Ms Ann, to understand how porch monkeys analyze things. And its by a black minister

  • Its always enlightening for us when we see another racist-cockroach scurrying out into the light for a brief moment. Ha. But trailer-trash does have its purpose, and thats to educate our children to see why folks like you remain at the bottom of the societal heap. Im laughing because you must be really in pain, what with an African American President cleaning up the mess Bush made. Talk about embarrassing! A Black man having to clean up the shit Bush made. Bah-hahahaha! And I'm White.

  • "mrr. chairman i think it goes back to the question" -"maybe it does or it doesn't, but wut do u think?" "i think it was the same question i was asked" -"well wuts the answer" "first i wanna make it clear that i'm not..." -"you don't have to make anything clear, just answer the question" "i just wanna make....." -"just answer the question!" "my thinking right now...." -"WHAT IS THE ANSWER?!?!" -"AHHH I GET IT!" HAHHAHAHHHA!!!! FUNNIEST STUFF EVER!!!! LOL!
  • I don't have an overall opinion on Mr. Conyers's career b/c I don't know enough about it. But he was very effective in this clip at revealing Mr. Yoo as an evil bureaucrat a la Adolph Eichmann. Mr. Addington reveals himself as a smug, sinister f*cker without any help.
