Our friend Jerry designed and built this grain thresher. It was made using a ceiling fan, pieces of rubber stall mats, a 50 gallon plastic barrel and a lot of creativity. Our grain isn't quite dry yet, but this thresher worked great when we tried it for the first time today. Next Jerry will convert an old gas clothes dryer to winnow and clean the seeds.

  • Impressive! Nice, simple design. I have been searching for a good design, yours looks the best so far. Is the ceiling fan powerful enough?

  • @anuttama I've checked out many home made threshers, and this one looks to be the most "do-able" for me. I even have what I need to make it. I also love the idea of the clothes dryer to winnow the grain, so if he gets it working, I would just love to hear about it. Thank you so much for the information. Being a bit handicapped, this is a life saver for me. I so value those that share their experiences with those of us who really need it. Bless, Sheila

  • cool looks like fun!
