Hook into a very tactical and useful outwear shell for around $80. In my extensive testing of this Condor Tactical Softshell jacket, I came away very impressed. It features amazing storage (8 well-designed pockets!), a perfectly designed and featured hood, great freedom of movement, long-enough sizing (probably order one size up dudes), great colors, pit zips, high quality stitching and zippers, and impressive attention to detail (like moral patches on the sleeves as well, Chums-brand zipper pulls, and perfect monochromatic color execution, and inner cell phone pockets). It is a copy of the also-excellent but stratospherically-priced TAD Gear "Stealth Hoodie" which in 2010 retails for $210. Wind, snow, and light rain resistance proved to be excellent in our RunNGuns in trying conditions; their breathable membrane seems to work as advertised and doesn't impart the clamminess that other Gore-Tex knockoffs do. I slammed this shell into the dirt, ran with it in the snow, mud, and rain and it came away no worse for wear and washed nicely. The Condor Softshell offers a near perfect all-around tactical or even around-town outer layer that you will fall in love with. /////////////////// Nutnfancy Likability Scale: 9 out of 10 (extending sizing would be make it a 10) /////////////// Music: www.torley.com ////////////// See either www.firearmspro.com (use code "nutnfancy" or www.uscav.com (use code "cavtnp", also our friend Brian Howell has another good review on this jacket!) for great deals on this jackets...thanks to both suppliers! //////////// NOTE: Update July 2010: Condor may have fixed the sizing of these jackets...order your your NORMAL size now!

  • Nutnfancy: Could you put Scotch Guard on it? I have a green one and just ordred the coyote tan one...you're right, the stain factor is a pain!

Your reviews rock, keep up the great work!

  • @SuperC457 I was thinking the same thing myself. Apparently ScotchGard is safe to use on synthetics.

  • @toooooooooooooooool Should be fine, but do a test spot first. -- Veri

  • @SuperC457 Try it on a small unnoticable spot first, maybe. I think it would be fine, though. -- Veri

  • is there a tnp coupon still? im very interested in one

  • @ryusekai Yes, just use "nutnfancy" upon checkout. -- Veri

  • I have this jacket and it gets the job done. I also have other softshells like the Northface APEX bionic. Mine already has loose stitching but its still holding up. I have it for about few months and washed it about 20 times.

If you think TAD gear ( made in my hometown SF, CA), you should check out Arcteryx or the Arcteryx Leaf tactical line that is being worn by Travis Haley. $500-700 bucks for a softshell. I'm going to buy a mid layer one though because i'm a mall ninja.

  • Hmmm biggest size seems to be XXXL and that's the size I wear..

LL Bean doesn't make anything over XXL =( makes me sad..

  • @McLOVINMike I would think it would be hard reaching back.. more so if you have a vest on.

  • im color blind is that sand color or olive drab? at 19:24

  • Lovin the TNP. No nonsense, practicle info and damn entertaining. Unlike some of the dry or distracting, eccentric reviews on field gear.

Never stop doing these videos, NF. You are the man!

  • really nice jacket just got mine today in black..

  • i just ordered one in black..great reveiw!

  • the TAD one are made in canada not china..

  • The Stealth Hoodie is freaking $359 now.
