I respect your opinion that Gerrard is better, but he clearly isn't. Lampards's goal record is way better, and he is the highest payed player in England (I think)

Or the rest of them. When you're relying on a central midfielder to score the goals and win you games you know you're in trouble. At least he had the most shots of any player that tournament, at least he tried. ^^

Lampard was awarded Premier League Player of Decade according to statistics and was a runner up in the FIFA World Player of the year and Ballon d'Or in 2005, so I think that says it all.

But honestly Gerrard is a class act too and it's wrong to compare the two because they are very different players. You've got to admire them both because players like these two do not crop up too often.

@480charlton: Actually, I would argue that it is more difficult to shine in a better team, as you're less likely to stand out. When Mourinho came to Chelsea and millions were spent, Frank could have easily been cast aside to make way for a super signing. But, rather contrastingly, Lampard ws made the heartbeat of the side and helped us win back-to-back titles - consistently scoring 20 goals a season in the process.

Gerrard pales in comparison.

lampard is quality but he hasnt alwats been quality like gerrard, but on his day lampard is the better player and always looks more likely to score, but if they swapped teams it would seem that gerrard could be seen as better, perhaps it is easier for lampard because he is playing with quality players, but sadly for gerrard that cannot be said.
