Personally if I wanted a dog that looks like a cane corso then I would get a cane corso.
Having said all that I know how difficult it is to create healthy, functional and massive dogs with type and bone. These kind of dogs are hard to find and cost more than most people are willing to pay but they are out there. Such a dog is truly something special. I am lucky to say that I have the contacts and the resources to have lived with such awesome dogs for the last 20 years.
Many use that argument because until 30 years ago all we had was thinly boned and much less typey dogs but... That was because the breed was all but forgotten and had diminished a great deal in the process. If you think of the "origins" 30 years ago then you would be right. But if we think of the origins in times of Alexander the great then you would be wrong. Pictures and statues of MASSIVE dogs are portrayed. But since it is easier to create less massive dogs many breeders will go that route
Just as the Rottie before that, the Dobie before that, the GSD before that and so on attracted men who need a macho dog. No dog, big or small will replace your manhood.
Ovcharkas are great dogs if you get a good one... So are mastiffs if you get a good one...
Only an idiot has that "my dog can beat up your dog" mentality.
All of these breeds make great companions and can get the job done if you take care to select a good example.
Oh yea... My hamster can kick your hamster's ass! Jesus...
OK... One more because some goof ball with a small dick is trying to get me into a :my dog can beat up your dog" pissing contest. Not interested in that.
But...
When I speak of Mastiffs and power I do not speak of the average mastiff u see being walked by an out of shape average person. I am talking about what the mastiff can be but all to often is not.
I am talking about the pinnacle of what a breed can be.
Ovcharkas are one of those breeds who are currently attracting men with micro penis
That is not to say that you cannot match a small man against a huge one and have the small man win.. If the big man in question is out of shape versus the small man being in peak condition but...
If they are anywhere near the same ballpark of ability the bigger man or animal always has the upper hand.
Nature tells the story. Big animals dominate and eat smaller animals.
Having said all that. All dogs, big or small are a blessing in your life.
Power is the name of the game when it comes to protection and combat. Same with dogs. Same with all animals. Most people want to believe that speed wins over power but if that were true then the Lion would be dominated by the panther. Panther being the superior athlete if it met a Lion it would be lunch. Size and power matters. Otherwise we would not have weigh classes in all martial arts. Light weight champion = speed. Heavyweight = power.
If matched against each other the light weight dies.
Many people confuse muscle mass and massive bone with fat... Just as often people confuse a fat dog with being massive which is even worse. Since people who like mastiffs generally want a huge dog and love exaggerations. When their dog does not get to be the size they want they feed until the dog becomes obese. I see that al the time unfortunately.
Mass, muscle and thick bones are what you want if power is what you are after. Ovcharkas won't be as powerful as a big mastiff but move quicker.
by the way this male here Ferdinando is almost 7 and still alive still breeding.... hmmmmm ignorance is bliss.. just stop already cause you dont know what you are talking about. I can tell you have never owned one of these dogs and maybe only seen them on the internet...
By no means would I as a breeder want someone like you to buy one. I hope you dont think I am trying to get you to change your mind. see the comment above i just replied about age.

Don't just pick a dog for ability but for love.

Nothing moves faster than a greyhound. Such exaggerations kill your credibility.
In the end there is no such thing as a better or best dog.
If you want maximum power you get less speed.
If you want maximum speed you get less power.
A human power lifter is not the fastest but the strongest.
A Human sprinter is not the strongest but the fastest. Then you have variations in between.
It just depends on what you like and how much of your preference you want which will make the best dog for YOU.
