I like how, at the beginning of the video, the conductor has a naughty schoolboy glint of glee in his eyes.

He knows what's coming, namely, the scariest damn ballet music in history!

I'll bet my behind that Bernard Herrmann drew inspiration from this when he wrote his Psycho score.

This is all good, though. Both pieces of music are absolutely brilliant.

The orchestra one level above mine just played this yesterday for the concert (I'm in Repertory Orchestra in the MN Youth Symphonies; the Symphony Orchestra played this - conducted by Manny Laureano).

Guys you know later in the song it gets all jaws the movie like and the song is about a girl who kills her self by dance herself to death as sacrifice to the "gods"
