@LBISoulSurfer you must be a college kid or an aussie. I played both for years and the hits in football are 10x harder than any rugby hit.

Yea Rugby is about 5X as 'barbaric'. Now maybe football has higher speed of collision, but nothing in football will ever compare to a ruck. The raw violence and abuse in rugby puts it in a much more barbaric catagory. BUT the helmet in football is what causes neck injuries. Players have been taught for 30+ years to lead with their head, use their head/helmet as a weapon. This is why people break necks in football but not in rugby. Rugby tackles are really high speed double leg take downs

My dad would have beaten me for crying lol

@TheRy4an yes, it's great that they're playing sport... but Rugby players also have extremely high rates of traumatic encephalopathy. I played high school football and was all-district in Arizona so I definitely understand the allure football has. I didn't play football in college because I played varsity soccer and swam. I'd much rather they ran cross-country or played soccer. Both are much more beautiful sports and don't leave players with symptoms that mimic early onset Alzheimer's.

@inourtime15 at least there playing sport...would you rather them sit at home. there just not taught how to tackle correctly, for some reason hitting the opponent with the helmet is seen as correct technique, people should watch how rugby players tackle with there shoulder making impact first
James Harrison got fined for this.
