Empire - Total War - Sea Battle gameplay at high settings

I know it's laggy, and it's because of fraps. I'm trying to figure out a way to get the fps the same both when fraps is actice, and when it's not! If you got any tips, please tell me :)

I know it might be a bit late..but go with ATI..you can overclock better.. :)...but I do hear gtz 260 is pretty nice..my 5770 can run everything on ultra..with a little lag.. :D but..High is just as good.
