We all love to hate, and American comic artists have given us some very special fictional villains as targets for that love/hatred relationship. High on the list of this comic army of bad guys is that short, fat DC Comics master criminal birdbrain, the Penguin. Very popular over the years, the Penguin has appeared of TV (portrayed by Burgess Meridith), in an animated series, and in moviedom (where Danny DeVito gives him a nasty turn). Here are a few imaginative depictions of him by various respected comic artists. The music includes the Pittsburgh Penguins theme song, and "Bird Flu."

yeah, thats my problem. realistic characters tend to be boring. its the weird or unrealistic looks of a character that gives it that little extra. like the batman animated series penguin has the super pointy nose and small broad posture.

Very nice tribute. They never should have downgraded the Penguin from a supervillain in the animated series. He's a first class villain, and instead of making him a joke occasionally, they should show how dangerous he can be (like the Kingpin, with all of his underworld connections and money.)
