  • Whoops, TampaKurt, I'm sorry I was calling for your execution. Oh well, these things are out of our hands. I was involved in a concert once, even had a solo part. The camcorder was attended by someone, but they never zoomed in. Might as well just listen to an audio tape. Great sounding choir you're in.

  • @heesendr "I'm sorry I was calling for your execution" haha if I only had a nickel for every time... ;-)

  • Whoever taped this ought to be shot. Let's see their faces. Zoom in.

  • @heesendr It was taped by me. I tried to find a way to sneak down from the risers and pan around, but the opportunity never presented itself...

  • we sang this in an Honor Choir that i attended, officially the longest song ive ever had to sing lol

  • @FUfromflorida Then you'll be blown away by your first masterwork! Keep singing!

  • What a great performance!!! Your choir sounds fantastic!! This would be incredible if backed by an orchestra!!! :-)

  • Our mixed chorus did this in the late 60's and I loved it. We either had two pianos (at school) or went to Soldiers and Sailors Hall and were accompanied by the Pittsburgh Youth Symphony. As I look back on this (I'm a teacher of 36 years), I am still inspired by Walt Whitman's words. frausrs

  • You know, I think singing this with piano allows the choir to do better justice to the entire dynamic range of the music without always trying to be heard....just a thought.

  • You guys don't need the subtitles, but thank you for them anyway. What wonderful words.

  • @zorg440, same, but in high school!

  • I remember performing this piece with my college choir. I loved it then, and I love it now!

  • @poetchris5 it absolutely is. my junior year of high school we did it accompanied by a small orchestra. and it is absolutely phenomenal

  • @luver49 I was there at FAU too. I was a junior in high school. :)

  • that was one fantastic pianist. and their dynamics are spectacular!

  • Thanks for posting this! I've selected this for our choir this semester, and it is good for them to see a performance without the orchestra.

    Excellent job!

I've always enjoyed just the piano vs. orchestra. Brings out the richness and

strength of the choir without a poor or overly drown out the choir rendition by the orchestra.
