Well he did win the tournament, just not this distance. And he's lost more 1500 meters before. His preferred distances are the 5000 and 10000 meters and he hasn't lost on those distances for quite a while now.
His 1500 are maybe not his best but still good, in the European all-round this year he finished second on the 1500, right after Fabris.
Of course every distance has its kings and Davis and Fabris are just generally better on this distance. No shame in that. they're all amazing skaters.

Sven lost because he made a mistake. the Korean feels great for winning the gold, but at the same time crappy because of someone else's mistake. These two will meet again, and then they can shake hands properly when it's over.
