Steven A. Ballmer is chief executive officer of Microsoft Corporation, the world's leading manufacturer of software for personal and business computing. Ballmer joined Microsoft in 1980 and was the first business manager hired by Bill Gates. Since then, Ballmer's leadership and passion have become hallmarks of his tenure at the company.
Ballmer and the company's business and technical leaders are focused on continuing Microsoft's innovation and leadership across the company's core businesses. Microsoft's goal is to provide an integrated platform to enable a seamless experience across a wide range of computing and non-PC devices and services.
Variously described as ebullient, focused, funny, passionate, sincere, hard-charging and dynamic, Ballmer has infused Microsoft with his own brand of energetic leadership, vision and spirit over the years.
Ballmer was born in March 1956, and grew up near Detroit, where his father worked as a manager at Ford Motor Co. He graduated from Harvard University with a bachelor's degree in mathematics and economics. While in college, Ballmer managed the football team, worked on the Harvard Crimson newspaper as well as the university literary magazine, and lived down the hall from fellow sophomore Bill Gates. After college, he worked for two years at Procter & Gamble Co. as an assistant product manager and, before joining Microsoft, attended Stanford University Graduate School of Business.

Back when Microsoft came out with Windows NT, they had salespeople giving PowerPoint presentations telling customers that NT was a secure operating system and that it was Mission Critical. the lies were easily discredited because at that time DoD only deemed Unix as a Mission Critical Operating system. I saw a demonstration on hacking over the network from a Mac into a Windows NT workstation and changing the log on password within 5 minutes. This was done at a reseller on their demo units.

How come Microsoft had to pull Microsoft Java? Blatant ripoff.

What's funny is that Microsoft is th only OS that isn't Unix, and Apple is gaining marketshare. In the US, Apple has 11.9% marketshare, which used to be 3%. Apple laptop and desktop sales went up over 20% last quarter and keeps on going up, when the windows marketshare is going down. Why is Microsoft trying to change everything over to metro? Because IE SUCKS!

People that think that there is nothing wrong and that companies not being run properly is someone that lives in FantasyLand. CEOs Iike Steve Ballmer have flat out mislead people. anyone thinking that the only reason why Microsoft has so many virus problems is because of their market share doesn't have a clue. The real reason is that their OS is a hunk of crap and Microsoft admitted a long time ago that the only reason why they are doing something is if it affects sales.

It is difficult to provide a detailed analysis on a YouTube comment, they don't give us enough characters to work with. With Microsoft, a lot of the problems is how they conduct themselves from a legal manner, copying other products, how Ballmer some stupid comments. Remember what Ballmer said about the first iPhone? he said they were too expensive and that they would sell many. Well, the iPhone is the single best selling smartphone and android is copying what apple is doing.

Hey Steve, I recently went to the local Mercedes Benz dealer and they had Macs, NOT Windows. they have switched. hahahahahaha, so you can take Mercedes Benz dealerships off the list of Microsoft OS customers.

Come on Steve, Microsoft got nailed for charging money from their OEMs whether their OS was loaded on the computer or not which prevented Apple from offering their OS on other company's hardware.

What stupid is having different versions of a desktop OS. You have to pay extra to get all of the features of windows, Apple doesn't charge extra for more features of Mac OS X desktop OS. How about charging more for file, print, email clients, etc. etc. etc. on their server software? It is a total ripoff. They just take advantage of their installed base.

If you buy a computer from one mfg and the OS is made by another, neither company can support the product effectively. customers end up suffering because of it.
Did you know that Mercedes Benz dealerships have been switching to the Mac? Whether Microsoft fans admit it there are large corporations that are switching from Windows to Macs. how about Ben Rosen from Compaq openly admitting he switched from Windows to Mac and wishing he had done it sooner.
