Because of the movie, I was motivated to check out Katrina's bio, Facebook/MySpace pages and to listen to her music. As expected, there's the typical Nashville schmaltz but some of it is interesting with quirky, original lyrics. I know there are a lot of great singers out there but I wonder why Katrina Elam is not in the top of the field. I don't pretend to understand what passes for talent in the music industry though.

I saw Katrina Elam in this movie on HBO - I am NOT a country fan at all - but the "I'm gonna go make it big in Music City" thing is a well-worn theme here in Austin also. So I watched it and the singing really caught my ear. I assumed it wasn't the actress (Katrina) singing (like others said) so I waited for the end of the movie to see who was REALLY singing - I thought it had to be someone famous. Really pleasantly surprised it was her. WOW.

I tracked down some videos of her live in concert performances, there easy to find. For the commenter who was certain her voice was sweetened for the vids or movie the live performances demosnstrate that her voice is even better than we see here. She uses very good, mature trills in her live performances. Strange that none of us have heard of her till this movie, her career goes back to 2004. It is just strange that she is so invisible except this movie, America is a strange place these days

I dont normally listen to country music either. Though WOW! Saw the movie this morning, corny, but I am corny. What a voice! I saw somebody was worried on her voice was "sweetened", I've checked some other sites, nope, no it is not. That's her, her voice is that powerful and clean. I hope she gets what she deserves and is trully happy in life.

I just saw the movie Ioved it and Katrina's voice is so beautiful and i don't usually listen to country music that often. keep doing what you are doing.
@Linc531 Linc. Funny you said that. I JUST saw the movie and thought it was Martina McBride singing. Only when I saw the credits did I realize this girl wrote and sang these songs herself. I never heard of her before. What an amazing voice. I still have goose bumps

My girlfriend wants to sing this song to me on our wedding. I told her it's funny because the guy should sing to the girl, she says she knows I love her enough that I don't have to say anything
