  • Amazing !!!! You have made me cry ! The best one I've ever heard or seen on Youtube ! When I die, I want you to play at my funeral !! I need a tissue.....really amazing....

  • Thank you for the kind words :)

  • my goodness, you perform it perfectly... great job! I lvoe this piece, especially this arrangement that Liszt made.... and I will repeat this again, perfect performance.

  • Thank you so much! I love this piece too.

  • How difficult is this peice?

  • I would say it's quite tricky - the rhythm of the soprano line is distorted in order to fit the hand and the leaps in opposite directions are tough.

  • Beautiful

  • Thank you, I appreciate your comment :)

  • Awesome! Did you forget to put the music stand down? ;-) I want to start learning this now... Liszt is awesome.

  • @FFChopinMan in other words its on the FRSM syllabus list, so its the hardest it gets in the associated board standards.

  • @jinfiesto I thought the same about this piece. After seeing the music I thought it was incredibly difficult, still, I jumped into it predicting disaster. To my surprise, I can now play it pretty well, yet I cant say the same about the impromptu. (I can play it but I'm just not happy with it)

I'm not sure whether people overrate the difficulty of this piece (like I did) or if it depends on the pianist

Are you on the opposite end? Do you find playing the impromptu easier than playing this lied?

  • I hear you! But because I am not the pianist, I'm swayed by the sound, not the level of difficulty : )

  • @AvaPozen This piece is exponentially more difficult than the fantasie impromptu. The fantasie impromptu is cake comparatively.

  • Did Liszt keep the staccato 1/8 notes in the LH?
