BBC TWO Newsnight Nick Griffin interview 24th April 2010

Jeremy Paxman will be presenting a series of special Saturday editions of Newsnight throughout the election campaign.

Nick Griffin, the leader of the British National Party (BNP), will be taking Jeremy through his party's manifesto, which calls for an end to immigration from Muslim nations, and a plan to give grants to encourage some UK residents to return to "their lands of ethnic origin".

Yeah....but that's what it amounts too....cash for children in one hand....and abortion and birthcontrol incentives in the other. You can't have both!! People can't afford children cos contraception has allowed for the double income economy....where both adults now work in a household...and cannot take a break from it...another trap of birthcontrol. It's not the Qu'ran which says that women should not have equal rights or disapproves of free speech, it's the culture. Even in the West, there are still problems with gender equality and in the past English monarchs believed in the Divine Right of Kings, which meant that we had one ruler; people could be killed for merely speaking against the monarch. So I think Mr Griffin should make himself more familiar with what the Qu'ran actually says rather than making wild assumptions based on hearsay.

@icfireplace And as I said, it's very obvious that there will be a new world order. Power has changed from superpower to superpower for centuries. No empire has ever remained established permanently. Historically, it is completely obvious, infact certain that by the time we die, America will no longer be the main superpower, but it will be between India and China.

I should go so far to sat that we are probably witnessing the start of a new Cold War - between Communist China and Capitalist India.

Power has changed between superpowers like clockwork over the centuries. There will be a new world order, and there is no doubt about it; China and India will dominate in the future. It has nothing to do with the Jews.

Likewise, poverty has been rife throughout human history. Although poverty is really sad, the fact remains that there are more humans on Earth than ever before. Your conspiracies are nonsense.

@icfireplace You shouldn't be so harsh on the Germans for putting those anti-denial laws in their constiution. The aim was not to distort the figures, but the exact opposite; a "lest we forget" rule, ensuring that nobody ever tried to brush over their past in the future, and to make sure that the Nazis were never glorified or returned to power.

I don't want to debate the numbers that died in the Holocaust; let's just agree that it never should have happened, and that it should never happen again

@icfireplace There are loads of movies that remind us of the insane casualties that the Russians took. Enemy at the Gates, Cross of Iron, Stalingrad to name just a few. Then there's computer games; the CoD series - need I say any more?

The bestselling history books are always the ones about the Eastern Front; A Beevor's 'Stalingrad,' for example was a huge success.

And when the BBC isn't reminding us about the Blitz, they're doing documentaries on the Russians in WW2, eg WW2 Behind Closed Doors.

@icfireplace Well, that's a lie. We're constantly reminded of the 27 million Russians who died in the war; the only reason that so much emphasis is put on the holocaust is because it was something darkly different from battlefield deaths - even in comparison to the brutality on the Eastern Front.

What happened in the holocaust is something that didn't belong in the 20th Century. It dashed humankind's illusion that somehow we had become civilised and thrown off our brutal ways.
