Tour the world, develop your music, do your homework. Being a Sweetheart is no easy feat - they walk the line between the adult and school worlds like few teenagers will ever experience. When this year's graduates -- the heart and soul of the group - leave, will the remaining Sweethearts cope as adults or school children? And can the new group perform at the level that ensures they play Europe's festival circuit?

The Sweethearts are a 30 piece all female soul fusion band. They've toured Europe, received national airplay on Triple J and built a reputation as a professional and exciting live soul act. And they're still at school - in Geelong.

They have worked hard to get where they are and have created their own world with deep emotional bonds, strong group norms and high aspirations. But their hard work could all be for nothing.

Every Sweetheart has their leaving date -- the end of Year 12. At the end of this year, the Sweethearts face their largest ever departure, as a third of the members graduate.

The graduates have been the band's heart and soul in musical direction and family atmosphere. Their replacements must be as dedicated and talented to keep the Sweethearts' professional reputation and international tour base intact.

We follow the Sweethearts as they face their toughest challenges:

Can they find ten talented and dedicated recruits from the Geelong area who also play the right instruments?

Can the remaining members step up as leaders and mentors or will their well intended criticism crush the spirit of the new recruits?

How will the graduates cope with life post-Sweethearts?

Will the new Sweethearts have the motivation, resources and self-belief to raise the money to get to Europe?

Which current and new members will cave under the demands of homework, study, rehearsals, and gigs?

Can the new Sweethearts form the musical proficiency and personal bonds needed to perform and impress on the international stage?

Or will they lose their hard-won reputation and be struck off the European tour list altogether?

With pressure like this, they'll need all their heart and soul to make it.
