I'd bet you any amount of money that they would have approved it if he submitted the proposal before installation. After he installed it, they realized that they could make money off of him so they called the panels an "eyesore". I think coal power plants are an eyesore, if everyone puts up solar panels we'll have a lot less eyesores. This HOA can go fuck itself.

that's about right, $50 a day is what this organized mafia can take from you in fines... worst of all, if you take them to court, they will use up to all the money paid by other howeowners that belong to that HOA to pay lawyers to defend yourself and go after you, so unless you have a million plus budget or a really good quick case, they can make your life miserable there as well... plus they all usually have a lawyer already working for them especialiced in real state

the problem is that in Dallas sometimes you have no option, if you want to live in a certain area, than putting up with HOA... but hey, if they have been able to kick out dictators in Egypt, Lybia and Syria, we may be able to get rid of HOA tirany in Texas one day too...

I thought Texas was filled with people who DON'T want the government all up in their business.

that's what I though too, unfortunatelly there are a lot of people with empty and no purpose lifes that find joy by telling others what they can and can't do and then you have the whole mafia of the construction companies that set up the HOAs after building the houses

That is one of the best reasons there is to avoid living in a HOA neighborhood. I know that do not want anyone sticking there nose in my business. I expect to have to fight annexation within 10 years though. I do not know how that is going to go, but I will go door to door if I have to to convince my neighbors of all the extra costs that they will incur if they for annexation.

this is why id never move to a HOA. When I was growing up at my parents i built a greenhouse only to have to rip it down because of their HOA.
