I don't know where the OP got this, but I have the same thing that I got in a puzzle shop in Jerusalem, they're so messed up because only the top and bottom faces can move at any multiple of 90 degrees at a time, while the sides can only move at multiples of 180 degrees at a time. Basically, I think this was thought up by someone playing Jenga with a basic 3x3x3 cube, because that's the only explanation for this fucked up thing. I also need to find a solution to one, because I'm at a total loss.

ymate has a tutorial on one of these... but he made it possible to shape shift. 0_0 it was awesome. the shape shifting turns were sorta like tony fishers over lapping cube.
-
yeah thats exactly right. i forgot about the last part.
-
yeah a 4x4x6 could shapeshift becuse 4 and 6 are both even numbers. a 6x6x3 (imagine that) could not shapeshift because there are no two different numbers that are both even/both odd.

3x3x3 = no (unless its an evil twin heheh)
but yeah monkeydude's comment was correct.
"A cuboid is capable of shape changing when ( two or more edge unit lengths are different and odd ) or ( two or more edge unit lengths are different and even ) excluding cuboids with a side of one." -Tony Fisher
