This is not Paganini's version (except one variation), and also not H.W. Ernst's (which is even much more difficult to play than Paganini's). It must be a different arrangement, maybe Repin's own.

geez you classical snobs need to loosen up, not all classical music are ment to have have a serious atmosphere. Sometimes there is just that one piece that makes us smile and giggles a little. This is an example of this piece. And if you listen to the style he plays the violin, it does sounds kinda humorous.

I love how the conductor's expression is like "how the hell does he do that?" when Repin is playing the pizzicato part at 1:40.
