Captaincel, there's logic in saying that killing is "wrong." It doesnt need religion to say it's wrong. We as a people simply don't want to be killed. So us as a civilization say killing is wrong simply because we don't want to live in an environment where we are killing each other on a whim. And isnt that part of preserving the species, not killing each other?

So why would we need religion at all to tell us that we shouldnt kill each other? We dont!

They were wrong. The bible doesn't say the earth is 6,000 years old. It only says biological life is. The earth had already existed before the 6 day creation. I personally believe the earth and matter are both more than double our current estimate, possibly even much beyond that. Many theologians of the late 1800s referred to it as eternity past. This isn't anything new, It was once a common view but has since been forgotten.

I COMMEND YOU Shane, you have uncovered so many impalatable truths... Clouded in their beliefs and fears, ignoramuses would rather passively mark the comments as spam rather than offer any valid counterargument. These same people are in question of their belief of their religion... and cannot see past their own fears and misguided prejudgments. When one concludes their ideals in life are questionable, it is only a natural response for them to seek denial.

Logic and reason are concepts.

The usage and the understanding of those, which I think you are actually trying to refer to, come about through Evolution, as thinking logically and rationally is a great advantage to thinking illogically and unreasonably.

And Morals are easily explained by evolutionary mechanism.

Evolution is not just about individuals, but about species. Social species benifit greatly from morals such as killing being a bad thing, as that reduce fighting within the group
