Todd Geer, Marie-Adele MacArthur. STIFFELIO, Act III, Scene 1 - Stiffelio presents his wife Lina with a bill of divorcement. After she reluctantly signs it, she appeals to him not as his wife but confesses to him as her minister. She tells him that she was betrayed by Raffaele, that she never loved him. Stiffelio decides to take his own revenge on Raffaele.

    It looks to me like the the Sarasota Opera (Florida) production. They did a more than respectable job with this for a regional company.

    "Ministro, confessatemi!" This is first-rate opera, vividly sung and acted. "Stiffelio" is in no way inferior to "Ballo"; why isn't it better known?
