what I truly appreciate about this from watching other Indian music (yes, an admitted noob to traditional Indian music) is the sound of them playing together...very harmonious. Maybe it is my untrained ear, but some tabla players have an accompaniast but it is background...not together. I have had VMs and Ry Cooder's album for years and now to see it is beautiful. Thank you!
