Penn State Head Football Coach Joe Paterno answers a question about his level of involvement in play-calling and talks about his "swagger" in this excerpt from his weekly press conference on Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2011 at Beaver Stadium.
2002 was the first time Paterno never did know for sure. I've played for him and was a coach there for a short time but it would have broken his heart to face the reality
The rest of the country is now aware that Paterno was aware what Sandusky was from at least 1998 after he fired him after Sandusky was accused of child rape and ADMITTING to "inappropriate behavior and showering with boys in PSU showers."
The facts and the 1998 Police Report speak for themselves.
So 2002 was NOT the first time Paterno was made aware of Sandusky "fondling" "doing sexual things" or "inappropriate behavior to boys in PSU showers."
@angryamerican I feel like I'm talking to a child. Are you really that stupid? Or are you just a subordinate to the media?
You have yet to show any facts. You keep using opinions. It's like you have no common sense to just read the jury report. It's pathetic.
Your attempts to bring down a distinguished man have been faltered every time I throw another fact at you. Just take your misinformation to someone else. I'm obviously too smart to fall for it.
An apologist? Hardly. Just a logical person proving a point against you "everyone is evil" apologists.
You are just mad because you are fact less and can not prove he did anything wrong. What he did will be remembered as a blessing that was shadowed by the lack of anyone following up to what this man tried to stop. It's just that simple.
Stop trying to act all high and mighty. You are just some clueless person with no facts. It's pathetic really.
@angeratarrogance I am not just talking about the 2002 incident where Paterno admitted on page 7 of the GJR that he was aware "FONDLING and something of a SEXUAL NATURE happened to a young boy."
In 1998 Sandusky was accused of child rape in PSU showers when he was JP's Defensive Coordinator!
Sandusky ADMITTED to "inappropriate behavior & showering with boys in PSU showers"
A 1998 Police Report is on file
Paterno FIRED Sandusky, but allowed him to "retire".
You can't say that JP reported a heinous crime & then say that it's okay for years he just forgot about it.
JP admitted to knowing "something of a sexual nature" happened to a child. JP reports it not to the real police but instead to his A.D. And then he forgets about it for years?
The facts speak for themselves.
Paterno did NOT do enough because little boys continued to be raped in HIS facilities.

@angeratarrogance
You sound like such a fool calling Gary Schultz "the police".
Schultz was NEVER a police officer. He NEVER went to the Police Academy.
He was a civilian employee of PSU they put in charge of armed officers, which is a laughable JOKE.
Paterno should have gone to the REAL police when he admitted to being informed "something of a SEXUAL nature happened to a young boy.".
Paterno knew since 1998 what Sandusky was and he looked the other way.
Shame on Paterno

You are being intellectually dishonest.
I have owned you with the facts.
You want to argue about Mike McQueary.
Paterno knew BEFORE 2002 what Sandusky was.
Paterno had a moral obligation to protect children from being raped in his facilities.
Paterno cared more about protecting his program's reputation rather than protecting children from Sandusky
Schultz didn't just "drop the case". Schultz, Curley, and Paterno covered it up and looked the other way.

@angeratarrogance
Sandusky was accused of child rape in 1998! BEFORE McQueary even worked for PSU!
A 1998 Police Report is on file where JS admitted to "inappropriate behavior and showering with boys in PSU showers." Paterno then fired him.
Paterno knew what Sandusky was BEFORE 2002 and never told the guy to even stay out of his facilities with little boys.
Paterno looked the other way from child sex abuse from at least 1998.
Paterno had a moral obligation to do more.

@angryamerican So answer this?
Who saw the crime? Mike Mcqueary
Who told the police? Joe Paterno Whoo WHOO slow down...
Mike didn't go tell them?? Nope that's right Joe Paterno did.
Who was told? Shultz
Who dropped the case? Shultz OH!! I get it now!
So any questions? Or are you still going to ignore the facts?? I made this as SIMPLE as possible here. Even you could understand.

JP apologist can't have it both ways.
You can't say that JP reported a heinous crime & then say that it's okay for years he just forgot about it.
