Mickey Hot Springs, Oregon

Mickey Hot Springs. I have heard about this place and this is my first visit. There is no place to soak, as it is way too hot. There are stories of people being seriously injured here, though. Not a good idea, as it is a couple hundred miles to the nearest hospital.

Nice place. The sign saying the thin ground surface can break under you is a bit ominous. No bathing potential?

@tocaloma - Not really. The upper source vent looks like it runs into a bathtub shaped depression that someone dug out, but the water in that seemed too hot. The lower vents are boiling and don't cool off before they run into a flat, brushy area. I think they want to declare it a Wilderness Are there, so digging a tub might be frowned upon. The place has a dangerous reputation, though, as someone got into it once without checking the temp first and suffered serious burns as a result.
