This week, I have decided to do things differently. First, instead of a written D'var, I want to offer the lyrics to a song that I wrote last February for a musical project I was in (that never took off) called Stereo Waves of Sound. Interpret it how you wish.
And secondly, this week's video is not the same as my D'var. Instead, it's a personal story. Strangely enough, it involves Christmas decorations.
Enjoy.
NEWS OF THE WORLD
I know there's always something wrong
I know you've known this all along
It begins when it ends
That's the news of the world
We take our chances, time again
We're broken pieces, bone and skin
I trust in you my friend
That's the news of the world
All of our possessions
In a dark procession, baby
All the worlds a mess
And you're in my heart
That's the news of the world
What becomes of us?
I know there's always something wrong
I know you've known this all along
Can't pretend it's a trend
That's the news of the world
All of our members
Piled up in barrels, baby
Sick, with a kiss
And you're in my heart
That's the news of the world
We'll never belong
Can you keep on thinking
It's gonna be a good good day
Break what you can't mend
And I keep on smilin'
That's the news of the world
We've come undone
There's three Patrick's at my shul...its insane! Patrick means Israel, though...how Jewish is that?
