For me, Krakow is simply beautiful. It is a large city and has the largest market square in Europe. It is an old city with a very young population. It has about 120,000 students together with some ex-pats and young tourists on holiday; many people spend their evening around the square for a drink or coffee and I could feel the vibration of the square even at 10.30pm. Many market stalls remain open until close to midnight as I stayed late with new friends at the market square most evening to enjoy the atmosphere.
Though Krakow attracts more and more visitors each year since it became a member of EU some ten years ago, it is still less spoiled by foreign tourists. Krakow is definitely worth a visit. The costs of living is still cheap with much to see compared to other EU countries, its location is ideal if you want to travel to other Eastern European Cities.
