AULD LANG SYNE - This song was written in 1788 by Robert Burns. I am including the Lyrics, on the last Verse, I elevate and use the Organ's Tutti with a nice Bombarde Pedal and the Harmonization is my own. An old Scottish tune, "Auld Lang Syne" literally means "old long ago," or simply, "the good old days."

1. Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And auld lang syne?

For auld lang syne, my dear,
For auld lang syne,
We'll tak a cup of kindness yet,
For auld lang syne!

2. And there's a hand my trusty fiere,
And gie's a hand o thine,
And we'll tak a right guid-willie waught,
For auld lang syne

For auld lang syne, my dear,
For auld lang syne,
We'll tak a cup of kindness yet,
For auld lang syne!

May you have a BLESSED and Happy New Year !

  • This is an awesome rendition of Auld Lang Syne! I love organs... :)

  • Hi Lance. In "Sacred Songs & Solos", "Auld Lang Syne" is the Tune for Fanny Crosby's beautiful Hymn, "How Sweet the Hour of Praise and Prayer." I was delighted to discover that. I think Robert Burns would have loved it. Be remembering you in Aberdeen both at New Year and also on Burns Night. All best wishes and God bless you and yours. Charlie
