April 15, 2008: These trains came back-to-back during a rush hour of trains, NS 20W has NS SD70M-2 2737 and BNSF Dash-9-44CW 5147, and 21A has two NS SD70M-2's. Both have big and bold K5LLA's which echo across the valley along the Juniata river. This is on the NS Pittsburgh Line at Losh's Run, the 124 signals can be seen here and the 122.6 detector can be heard here.

  • Nice video!

On a side note, I've always wondered why NS continues to use the old PRR signal-types on the Pittsburgh line, and the newer types on the Harrisburg line...do you have any idea why??

  • I don't know, but just as long as the PRR signals stay around as long as possible! There is comething different with the signal programs, I'm not sure what it is, and I don't know all those acronyms...

  • Very Nice, But An Annoying Detector.

  • Not as annoying as the ones on the Harrisburg Line, they are programmed so LOUD so it keeps the crews awake, or wakes up those who have fallen asleep.

  • the juniata valley is underrated for railfanning the ex prr.

  • dude my dad saw thee same train passthough charrlotte north carolina

  • at 0:21 you can hear 20w's k5lla echoing through the series of crossings

  • u r right there's a difference in the dd's from the one in lily and the one here the one here has a total axle counting and u can here a noise in the background that the one in lily doesn't

  • thats the first time ive really heard a K5LLA at high speed, sounds cool!

  • Haha CMON CPRailConductor, I LOVE that detector!! Idk why, but there's just something about the digital-voice ones that I love. I was SO PISSED when they changed the one at Lilly to a GAY voice, the one here sounded so much better.

  • The Harrisburg Line used to not be CTC, so when they installed it, they replaced the signals. The Pittsburgh Line was CTC when NS acquired it, so NS didn't have a need to replace signals. BTW, the reason that the lead power can be so boring on the Pittsburgh Line is because each has to have cab signals.

  • I can tell that Intermodal was pushing that wind on ya! I need to head back up there =/
